Before transitioning to her current role, Rowan spent six months interning at FEM. During that time, she conducted literature reviews and other desk research to inform our pilot project. She holds a BA in philosophy and economics from Massey University, where she previously worked as a research assistant.
Alongside her work with FEM, Rowan manages the day to operations of Effective Altruism New Zealand. In that capacity, she both supports the local effective altruism (EA) community and oversees a non-profit to fundraise for highly effective charities. Rowan has also facilitated the EA Anywhere virtual meetup group and helped to organize several EAGx conferences.
