Anna Christina Thorsheim
President of the Board, Co-founder
Anna Christina is the co-founder of Elevate Philanthropy, which addresses a bottleneck in global development: lack of funding for highly effective initiatives. Previously, she co-founded FEM and served as executive director: overseeing core activities, supporting the team, and setting strategy for cost-effective impact at scale.
Anna Christina first became aware of the impact misinformation has on agency and maternal health in 2016 while researching socio-cultural barriers to family planning uptake in rural Tanzania and has dedicated her work to solving this problem. Before starting FEM, she co-founded a health-tech startup developing VR-based phobia treatment and worked as Head of PR at a startup incubator for for-profits aiming to achieve SDGs. Anna Christina earned her masters in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University.
